about

I started work on this piece while the Stairway To Heaven trial was underway.

I wanted to use a chord sequence that had been used more than once in the history of music. This one could be called the 'My Funny Valentine' chord sequence, with the static minor triad and the bass note that descends chromatically from the root to the major 7 to the b7 to the 6, creating an interesting polychordal effect as the bass notes descend.

Before this piece had a name, my wife Theresa asked me if this music represented what my bipolar brain is like. It does indeed, and that's why I named this song Bipolar Concerto.

about

Larry Kornfeld St. Louis, Missouri
